Then Jehoiada made a covenant between himself, the king, and the people that they would be the Lord’s people.

Between him ... - In 2 Kings 11:17 the covenant is said to have been made âbetween the Lord,â etc. To the writer of Chronicles Jehoiada was Godâs representative, and received the pledges of king and people.
