¹⁷ And the fourth lot came out to Issachar. ¹⁸ And their borders were Jazel, and Chasaloth, and Sunam, ¹⁹ and Agin, and Siona, and Reeroth, ²⁰ and Anachereth, and Dabiron, and Kison, and Rebes, ²¹ and Remmas, and Jeon, and Tomman, and Æmarec, and Bersaphes. ²² And the boundaries shall border upon Gaethbor, and upon Salim westward, and Baethsamys; and the extremity of his bounds shall be Jordan. ²³ This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Issachar according to their families, the cities and their villages.

since thy servant has found mercy before thee, and thou hast magnified thy righteousness, in what thou doest towards me that my soul may live, —but I shall not be able to escape to the mountain, lest perhaps the calamity overtake me and I die.

Hasten therefore to escape thither, for I shall not be able to do anything until thou art come thither; therefore he called the name of that city, Segor.

Gill's Notes on the Bible

And Hapharaim,.... The first of these is by Jerom y called Aphraim, a city of the tribe of Issachar; and adds, there is at this day a village called Affarea, six miles from Legion to the north;

and Shion; of Seon or Soen, the same with Shion here, he says z, there was a village of this name shown in his time near Mount Tabor;

and Anaharath, of which we have no account elsewhere.
