For you have upheld my just cause;you are seated on your throne as a righteous judge.

I will praise you, Lord , with all my heart and tell about the wonders you have worked. 2 God Most High, I will rejoice; I will celebrate and sing because of you. 3 When my enemies face you, they run away and stumble and are destroyed. 4 You take your seat as judge, and your fair decisions prove that I was in the right. 5 You warn the nations and destroy evil people; you wipe out their names forever and ever. 6 Our enemies are destroyed completely for all time. Their cities are torn down, and they will never be remembered again. 7 You rule forever, Lord , and you are on your throne, ready for judgment. 8 You judge the world fairly and treat all nations with justice. 9 The poor can run to you because you are a fortress in times of trouble. 10 Everyone who honors your name can trust you, because you are faithful to all who depend on you.Bible Verse Review

When I send clouds over the earth, and a rainbow appears in the sky,
So you and your descendants must never eat any fat or any blood, not even in the privacy of your own homes. This law will never change.
And no matter where you live, you must not eat the blood of any bird or animal,
Don't eat the blood of any animal. Don't practice any kind of witchcraft.
But don't eat the blood. It is the life of the animal, so let it drain out on the ground before you eat the meat.
You belong to the Lord your God, so if you happen to find a dead animal, don't eat its meat. You may give it to foreigners who live in your town or sell it to foreigners who are visiting your town. Don't boil a young goat in its mother's milk.
But you must never eat the blood of an animal—let it drain out on the ground.
We should simply write and tell them not to eat anything that has been offered to idols. They should be told not to eat the meat of any animal that has been strangled or that still has blood in it. They must also not commit any terrible sexual sins.
So we met together and decided to choose some men and to send them to you along with our good friends Barnabas and Paul.

For thou hast maintained my right and my cause,.... Or vindicated and established his righteous cause; God had pleaded and defended it, and by the flight, fall, and ruin of his enemies, had clearly made it appear that his cause was just and good;
thou sittest in the throne judging right; God has not only a throne of grace on which he sits, and from whence he distributes grace and mercy to his people, but he has a throne of judgment, and which is prepared for it, as in Psalms 9:7; where he sits as the Judge of all the earth, and will do right; nor can he do otherwise, though his judgments are not always manifest in the present state of things; and the vindication of the psalmist's innocence and uprightness is another reason of his joy and gladness.
Barnes' Notes on the Bible
For thou hast maintained my right and my cause - My righteous cause; that is, when he was unequally attacked. When his enemies came upon him in an unprovoked and cruel manner, God had interposed and had defended his cause. This shows that the psalmist refers to something that had occurred in the past; also that he regarded his cause as right - for the interposition of God in his behalf had confirmed him in this belief.
Thou satest in the throne judging right - As if he had been seated on a bench of justice, and bad decided on the merits of his cause before he interfered in his behalf. It was not the result of impulse, folly, partiality, or favoritism; it was because he had, as a judge, considered the matter, and had decided that the right was with the author of the psalm, and not with his enemies. As the result of that determination of the case, he had interposed to vindicate him, and to overthrow his adversaries. Compare Psalms 8:3-8.
