and the hangings of the court, and the curtain of the entrance, of the gate of the court, which surroundeth the tabernacle and the altar, and the cords thereof, and all the instruments of their service; and all that is to be done for these things shall they perform.
They must carry the curtains of the courtyard that are around the Holy Tent and the altar. And they must carry the curtain for the entrance of the courtyard. They must also carry all the ropes and all the things that are used with the curtains. The Gershonite men will be responsible for anything that needs to be done with these things.

Kayin had sexual relations with his wife; she conceived and gave birth to Hanokh. Kayin built a city and named the city after his son Hanokh.
To Hanokh was born ‘Irad. ‘Irad fathered Mechuya'el, Mechuya'el fathered Metusha'el, and Metusha'el fathered Lemekh.
He left that place, went to the hill east of Beit-El and pitched his tent. With Beit-El to the west and ‘Ai to the east, he built an altar there and called on the name of Adonai .
There he built an altar and called on the name of Adonai . He pitched his tent there, and there Yitz'chak's servants dug a well.
Then, you, call on the name of your god; and I will call on the name of Adonai ; and the God who answers with fire, let him be God!" All the people answered, "Good idea! Agreed!"
I will offer a sacrifice of thanks to you and will call on the name of Adonai .
One will say, ‘I belong to Adonai .' Another will be called by the name of Ya‘akov. Yet another will write that he belongs to Adonai . and adopt the surname Isra'el."
Listen to this, house of Ya‘akov, called by the name of Isra'el, who have come from the spring of Y'hudah, who swear by the name of Adonai and invoke the God of Isra'el! — it is not sincerely or justifiably

And the hangings of the court,.... Which made the great court that surrounded the tabernacle, Exodus 27:9;
and the hanging for the door of the gate of the court; the eastern gate that led into the court, an hanging of twenty cubits, Exodus 27:16;
which [is] by the tabernacle, and by the altar round about; that is, which hangings that formed the court, and were round about the tabernacle, and the altar of burnt offering; Exodus 27:16- :;
and their cords; which fastened the hangings to pins or stakes fixed in the ground to keep them tight, that they might not be moved to and fro with the wind:
and all the instruments of their service; in the court, as the tables on which the sacrifices were laid, and the hooks, and cords, and pins, on which they were hung and fastened, as Aben Ezra; see Ezekiel 40:39;
and all that is made for them; for the vessels of service, or for the tabernacle, or the altar, as the same writer intimates:
so shall they serve; by bearing them and carrying them.
