Nevertheless there are good things found in you, in that you have put away the Asherot out of the land, and have set your heart to seek God.
Nevertheless there are good things found in thee, in that thou hast taken away the groves out of the land, and hast prepared thine heart to seek God.
Nevertheless, some good is found in you, for you destroyed the Asheroth out of the land, and have set your heart to seek God."
But there is some good in you. You took the Asherah idols out of this country, and you have tried to obey God."

Fortunately, you did some good things in your life. You did remove the Asherah poles from this country, and you did decide to ask God for his advice."
But I believe good reports have been heard about you, in that you have not shed innocent blood in the land and have prepared your heart to pray before the LORD in truth.

howbeit, good things, are found with thee,-for that thou hast consumed the Sacred Stems out of the land, and hast fixed thy heart to seek God.

Nevertheless, there are good things found in thee,.... Principles of grace, righteousness, and holiness, faith, love, zeal, and other graces, true and genuine, from whence sprung many good works done by him:
in that thou hast taken away the groves out of the land; cut down the groves of trees, and destroyed the idols and images in them:
and hast prepared thine heart to seek God; through the grace of God his heart was disposed to serve and worship the Lord, and to seek his honour and glory.
