Contextual Overview
15Only Jonathan son of Asahel and Jahzeiah son of Tikvah opposed this, with Meshullam and Shabbethai the Levite supporting them. 16The exiles did what had been proposed. The priest Ezra selected men who were family heads, all identified by name, to represent their ancestral families. They convened on the first day of the tenth month to investigate the matter, 17and by the first day of the first month they had dealt with all the men who had married foreign women. 18The following were found to have married foreign women from the descendants of the priests: 19They pledged to send their wives away, and being guilty, they offered a ram from the flock for their guilt; 20Hanani and Zebadiah from Immer’s descendants; 21Maaseiah, Elijah, Shemaiah, Jehiel, and Uzziah from Harim’s descendants; 22Elioenai, Maaseiah, Ishmael, Nethanel, Jozabad, and Elasah from Pashhur’s descendants. 23The Levites: 24The singers:

Barnes' Notes on the Bible
Compare with the list in Ezra 2:0.
Ezra 10:19
They gave their hands - i. e., “solemnly pledged themselves” (compare the marginal references).
Ezra 10:44
The guilty persons, it would seem, were 113 in number. They comprised 4 members of the high priest’s family, 13 other priests, 10 Levites, and 86 lay Israelites belonging to at least 10 distinct families. The fact noted in the second clause of the verse must have increased the difficulity of Ezra’s task.
