²⁸ The sons of Abraham: Isaac and Ishmael. ²⁹ These are their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam; ³⁰ Mishma and Dumah; Massa, Hadad, and Tema; ³¹ Jetur, Naphish, and Kedmah: those are the sons of Ishmael. ³² —And the sons of Keturah, Abraham's concubine: she bore Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. Hadad here and in 1 Chronicles 1:50 is the well-known Syrian name, of which Hadar (margin) is an accidental corruption, consequent on the close resemblance between “d” (daleth) and “r” (resh) in Hebrew, the final letters of the two names.
