Judah turned and discovered that the battle was in front of them and behind them, so they cried out to the Lord. Then the priests blew the trumpets,
When Yehudah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind them; and they cried to the LORD, and the Kohanim sounded with the trumpets.
And when Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind: and they cried unto the Lord , and the priests sounded with the trumpets.
And when Judah looked, behold, the battle was in front of and behind them. And they cried to the Lord , and the priests blew the trumpets.
When the soldiers of Judah turned around, they saw Jeroboam's army attacking both in front and back. So they cried out to the Lord , and the priests blew the trumpets.
The men of Judah turned around and realized they were being attacked from the front and the rear. So they cried out for help to the Lord . The priests blew their trumpets,

The Judeans looked around and saw that they were surrounded. They cried to the Lord for help, and the priests blew the trumpets.

And when Judah looked, behold, the battle was before and behind them; and they cried to the LORD, and the priests blew the trumpets.
And Judah turneth, and lo, against them [is] the battle, before and behind, and they cry to Jehovah, and the priests are blowing with trumpets,

And when Judah looked back,.... On hearing a noise behind them:
behold, the battle was before and behind; men were set in battle array, and the battle was begun, and an attack made upon them both ways:
and they cried unto the Lord; for help against their enemies, and to deliver them out of their hands:
and the priests sounded with the trumpets; to inspire them with cheerfulness, and to suggest to them that God was with them and they need not be afraid.
