The offering, the tenth, and the dedicated things were brought faithfully. Conaniah the Levite was the officer in charge of them, and his brother Shimei was second.
They brought in the offerings and the tithes and the dedicated things faithfully: and over them Kananyahu the Levite was ruler, and Shim`i his brother was second.

They took advantage of the poor and stole what little they had. But the Lord knows what they did, and he says, "I will rescue those who are poor and helpless, and I will punish those who hurt them."
You know where I go and where I lie down. You know everything I do.
In some country you will see poor people who are forced to work very hard. You will see that this is not fair to them. It is against their rights. But don't be surprised! The ruler who forces them to work has another ruler who forces him. And there is still another ruler who forces both of these rulers.

And brought in the offerings, and the tithes, and the dedicated things, faithfully,.... Kept nothing back for their own private use, but faithfully delivered in and laid up the whole that was brought which remained; this was done by the priests and Levites, in whose hands and care they were:
over which Cononiah the Levite was ruler, and Shimei his brother was the next; these two had the charge and care of the whole, the one as deputy to the other.
