Then he hid those things in the house. 25 Gehazi came in and stood before his master. Elisha said to Gehazi, "Where have you been Gehazi?" Gehazi answered, "I didn't go anywhere." 26 Elisha said to him, "That is not true! My heart was with you when the man turned from his chariot to meet you. This is not the time to take money, clothes, olives, grapes, sheep, cattle, or men and women servants. 27 Now you and your children will catch Naaman's disease. You will have leprosy forever!" When Gehazi left Elisha, his skin was as white as snow! He was sick with leprosy.

The tower - Rather, âthe hill,â the well-known hill by Elishaâs house. The hill interrupted the view in the direction taken by Naaman, and Gehazi dismissed Naamanâs servants at this point lest they should be seen from his masterâs residence.

Verse 2 Kings 5:24. When he came to the tower — The Chaldee, Septuagint, Syriac, and Arabic understand the word ×¢×¤× ophel, which we translate tower, as signifying a secret, dark, or hiding place. He was doing a deed of darkness, and he sought darkness to conceal it. He no doubt put them in a place little frequented, or one to which few had access besides himself. But the prophet's discerning spirit found him out.
