And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bore Enoch; and he started to build a village, and named the village after the name of his son, Enoch.
And Lamech took two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah.
And Adah bore Jabal, who was the father of those who dwell in tents, and are owners of cattle.
And it came to pass that when the sun had set and it was dark, behold there appeared a smoking furnace and a burning torch that passed between those pieces.
You shall set apart to the LORD every first-born that opens the womb and every firstling that comes of the animals that you have; the males shall be the LORDS.
And there came a fire out from before the LORD and consumed the burnt offering and the fat upon the altar, which all the people saw; they gave praise and fell on their faces.
And there came out a fire from before the LORD and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense.
All the best of the oil and all the best of the wheat and of the wine, the firstfruits of them that they shall give to the LORD, I have given them to you.
But the firstlings of the cattle or the firstlings of the sheep or the firstlings of the goats, you shall not redeem, because they are holy; you shall sprinkle their blood upon the altar and shall burn their fat for an offering made by fire, for a sweet savour to the LORD.
Barnes' Notes on the Bible
Clarke's Notes on the Bible
Verso 1 Timoteo 4:4 .
