THE MESSAGE
From a Wooden to an Iron Yoke Later that same year (it was in the fifth month of King Zedekiah's fourth year) Hananiah son of Azzur, a prophet from Gibeon, confronted Jeremiah in the Temple of God in front of the priests and all the people who were there. Hananiah said: "This Message is straight from God -of-the-Angel-Armies, the God of Israel: ‘I will most certainly break the yoke of the king of Babylon. Before two years are out I'll have all the furnishings of God 's Temple back here, all the things that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon plundered and hauled off to Babylon. I'll also bring back Jehoiachin son of Jehoiakim king of Judah and all the exiles who were taken off to Babylon.' God 's Decree. ‘Yes, I will break the king of Babylon's yoke. You'll no longer be in harness to him.'"
New American Standard Bible (1995)
'I am also going to bring back to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and all the exiles of Judah who went to Babylon,' declares the LORD, 'for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.'"

Contextual Overview

1 It happened the same year, in the beginning of the reign of Tzidkiyahu king of Yehudah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, that Hananyah the son of Azur, the prophet, who was of Giv`on, spoke to me in the house of the LORD, in the presence of the Kohanim and of all the people, saying, 2 Thus speaks the LORD of Hosts, the God of Yisra'el, saying, I have broken the yoke of the king of Bavel. 3 Within two full years will I bring again into this place all the vessels of the LORD's house, that Nevukhadnetztzar king of Bavel took away from this place, and carried to Bavel: 4 and I will bring again to this place Yekhonyah the son of Yehoiakim, king of Yehudah, with all the captives of Yehudah, who went to Bavel, says the LORD; for I will break the yoke of the king of Bavel. 5 Then the prophet Yirmeyahu said to the prophet Hananyah in the presence of the Kohanim, and in the presence of all the people who stood in the house of the LORD, 6 even the prophet Yirmeyahu said, Amein: the LORD do so; the LORD perform your words which you have prophesied, to bring again the vessels of the LORD's house, and all them of the captivity, from Bavel to this place. 7 Nevertheless hear you now this word that I speak in your ears, and in the ears of all the people: 8 The prophets who have been before me and before you of old prophesied against many countries, and against great kingdoms, of war, and of evil, and of pestilence. 9 The prophet who prophesies of shalom, when the word of the prophet shall happen, then shall the prophet be known, that the LORD has truly sent him.

I will bring: This was doubtless grateful news to the people, who looked upon Zedekiah only as Nebuchadnezzar's deputy. Hananiah seems to have been more desirous of popular than regal favour; for this prediction could not be altogether agreeable to Zedekiah. But he was evidently a weak as well as a wicked prince, and very generally despised.

Gill's Notes on the Bible

And I will bring again to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah,.... This he knew would please the people, who looked upon Zedekiah only as a deputy of the king of Babylon, and not properly their king; but Jeconiah, as he is here called; and he knew that Zedekiah dared not resent this, but was obliged to feigned a desire of Jeconiah's return, though otherwise not agreeable to him:

with all the captives of Judah that went into Babylon, saith the Lord; the princes, officers, and others, that should be living at the time fixed:

for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon; weaken his power over other nations, and particularly deliver the king of Judah from his bondage, and from subjection to him.

Barnes' Notes on the Bible

Jeconiah - Zedekiah not being popular, the people would have preferred the young king, who had not reigned long enough to make enemies. Probably also Zedekiah had started for Babylon Jeremiah 51:59.
