Judah gave Hebron to Caleb, just as Moses had promised. Then Caleb drove out the three sons of Anak who lived there.
They gave Hevron to Kalev, as Moshe had spoken: and he drove out there the three sons of `Anak.
And they gave Hebron unto Caleb, as Moses said: and he expelled thence the three sons of Anak.
They gave Hebron to Caleb just as Moses said, and he drove out the three sons of Anak from there.

The tribe of Judah gave the town of Hebron to Caleb, as Moses had told them to do. Caleb defeated the three Anakim clans and took over the town.
They gave Hevron to Kalev, as Moshe had said to do; and he drove out from there the three sons of ‘Anak.
And they gave to Caleb Hebron, as Moses had said; and he dispossessed from thence the three sons of Anak.
Moses had promised to give the land near Hebron to Caleb, so that land was given to Caleb's family. The men of Caleb forced the three sons of Anak to leave that place.
And they gave Hebron to Caleb, as Moses had said; and he destroyed from thence the three sons of giants.
As Moses had commanded, Hebron was given to Caleb, who drove out of the city the three clans descended from Anak.

And they gave Hebron unto Caleb, as Moses said,.... Which was done in the times of Joshua, both by him and all the people, according to the order of Moses. This is to be understood not of the city which was given to the Levites, but of the fields and parts adjacent,
Joshua 14:13;
and he expelled thence the three sons of Anak: whose names are given Judges 1:10; this shows that this refers to the same expedition as in
Joshua 15:14; and is expressed in the same manner.
