Contextual Overview

1 And Benjamin fathered his first-born, Bela; Ashbel, the second; and Aharah, the third; 2 Nohah, the fourth; and Rapha, the fifth. 3 And sons were born to Bela: Addar, and Gera, and Abihud, 4 and Abishua, and Naaman, and Ahoah, 5 and Gera, and Shephuphan, and Huram. 6 And these are the sons of Ehud; these are they, the heads of the fathers to the dwellers of Geba; and they exiled them to Manahath. 7 And Naaman, and Ahiah, and Gera, he exiled them. And Ehud fathered Uzza and Ahihud. 8 And Shaharaim fathered sons in the country of Moab after he had sent them away. Hushim and Baara were his wives. 9 And by his wife Hodesh were Jobab, and Zibia, and Mesha, and Malcham, 10 and Jeuz, and Shachia, and Mirma. These were his sons, heads of the fathers.

Bible Verse Review
  from Treasury of Scripure Knowledge

Gera: Judges 3:15

Shephuphan: שפם [Strong's H8206], Shuppim, seems to be merely a contracted form of שפופם [Strong's H8197], Shupham, or rather, Shephupham, which, by the mutation of מ, mem, into נ, noon, is here changed into שפופן [Strong's H8197], Shephuphan. 1 Chronicles 7:12, Shuppim, Numbers 26:39, Shupham

Huram: Huram appears to be an error for Hupham in the parallel passage of Numbers, which, by contraction, is written Huppim.

Cross-References
