Now the day before Saul’s arrival, the Lord had informed Samuel,

For Your name's sake, do not spurn us ; do not dishonor the throne of Your glory. Remember, and do not break Your covenant with us.
But I will remember My covenant with you in the days of your youth, and I will raise up to you an everlasting covenant.
