¹⁷ The fourth lot came out to Issachar, for the sons of Issachar according to their families. ¹⁸ And their border was toward Jezreel, and Chesulloth, and Shunem, ¹⁹ and Hapharaim, and Shihon, and Anaharath, ²⁰ and Rabbith, and Kishion, and Abez, ²¹ and Remeth, and En-gannim, and En-haddah, and Beth-pazzez. ²² And the border reaches to Tabor, and Shahazimah, and Beth-shemesh. And the boundaries of their border were at Jordan; sixteen cities and their villages. ²³ This is the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Issachar according to their families, the cities and their villages.

And it happened as they led them outside, he said, Escape for your life! Do not look behind you, and do not stay in all the plain. Escape to the mountain, lest you be swept away.

Behold, now, Your servant has found grace in Your sight, and You have magnified Your mercy which You have done to me in saving my life. And I am not able to escape to the mountain lest some evil overtake me and I die.

Hurry, escape there, for I am not able to do anything until you have come there. So the name of the city was called Zoar.

And He overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all those living in the cities, and the produce of the ground.

Gill's Notes on the Bible

And Hapharaim,.... The first of these is by Jerom y called Aphraim, a city of the tribe of Issachar; and adds, there is at this day a village called Affarea, six miles from Legion to the north;

and Shion; of Seon or Soen, the same with Shion here, he says z, there was a village of this name shown in his time near Mount Tabor;

and Anaharath, of which we have no account elsewhere.
