Bildad Asks, Can Man Be Right with God?

¹ Then Bildad the Shuhite answered and said,

² "^(C1)Rule and dread ^(F1)belong to Him
Who makes peace in ^(C2)His heights.

³ "Is there any number to ^(C1)His troops?
And upon whom does His light not rise?

⁴ "How then can mortal man be ^(C1)right with God?
Or how can he be ^(C2)pure who is born of woman?

⁵ "Behold even ^(C1)the moon has no brightness,
And the ^(C2)stars are not pure in His sight;

⁶ How much less ^(C1)mortal man, that ^(C2)maggot,
And the son of man, that worm!"
