Psalms 62
God Is a Refuge for Us
1 (C1)Surely my soul waits in silence for God;
From Him (C2)is my salvation.
2 Surely He is my (C1)rock and my salvation,
My (C2)stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken.
3 How long will you assail a man,
That you may murder him, all of you,
Like a (C1)leaning wall, like a fence thrust down?
4 Surely they have counseled to thrust him down from his high position;
They (C1)find pleasure in falsehood;
They (C2)bless with (F1)their mouth,
But inwardly they curse. Selah may mean Pause, Crescendo, Musical Interlude">(F2)Selah.
5 Surely (C1)wait in silence for God, O my soul,
For my hope is from Him.
6 Surely He is (C1)my rock and my salvation,
My stronghold; I shall not be shaken.
7 On God my (C1)salvation and my glory rest;
The rock of my strength, my (C2)refuge is in God.
8 (C1)Trust in Him at all times, O people;
(C2)Pour out your heart before Him;
God is a refuge for us. Selah.
9 Surely (F1)men of (C1)low degree are merely (C2)vanity and (F2)men of rank are a (C3)lie;
In the (C4)balances they go up;
They are together lighter than a breath of vanity.
10 (C1)Do not trust in oppression
And do not put vain hope in (C2)robbery;
If riches increase, (C3)do not set your heart upon them.
11 (F1)Once God has (C1)spoken;
(F2)Twice I have heard this:
That (C2)strength belongs to God;
12 And that (C1)to You, O Lord, belongs lovingkindness,
For You (C2)repay a man according to his work.
