But the Rescuer is strong: God -of-the-Angel-Armies. Yes, I will take their side, I'll come to their rescue. At the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth is moved,.... It being so sudden and unexpected, and so very astonishing:

Verse Jeremiah 50:46. At the noise of the taking of Babylon — Jeremiah 49:21. In the forty-ninth chapter, these words are spoken of Nebuchadnezzar; here, of Cyrus. The taking of Babylon was a wonder to all the surrounding nations. It was thought to be impregnable.
