But Neco took Eliakim's brother Joahaz and brought him to Egypt. 5 Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he ruled eleven years in Jerusalem. Verse 2 Chronicles 36:6. Came up Nebuchadnezzar — 2 Kings 24:1. Archbishop Usher believes that Jehoiakim remained three years after this tributary to the Chaldeans, and that it is from this period that the seventy years' captivity, predicted by Jeremiah, is to be reckoned.
