Bible Verse Review
  from Treasury of Scripure Knowledge

The lot Asher lay upon the coast of the great sea. We read of only one remarkable person of this tribe, and that was Anna, the prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, a widow of about four-score and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day. Luke 2:26-38

Reciprocal: Genesis 49:20 - General Numbers 26:55 - by lot Numbers 34:17 - are the names Judges 1:31 - Asher Judges 5:17 - Asher 1 Kings 4:16 - Asher 1 Chronicles 2:2 - Asher Ezekiel 48:2 - Asher

Gill's Notes on the Bible

And the fifth lot came out for the tribe of the children of Asher,.... Which entitled them to an inheritance next described:

according to their families; which was sufficient for them, and divided to them according to their number.
