Giosuè adunque, e tutto Israele, veggendo che gli agguati aveano presa la città, e che il fumo di essa saliva, voltarono faccia, e percossero la gente d’Ai.

and all Israel saw that the ambush had taken the city; which they knew by the smoke, as follows:
