Contextual Overview

¹After these faithful deeds, King Sennacherib of Assyria came and entered Judah. He laid siege to the fortified cities and intended to break into them. ¹ After these things, and this faithfulness, Sancheriv king of Ashshur came, and entered into Yehudah, and encamped against the fortified cities, and thought to win them for himself. ¹ After these things, and the establishment thereof, Sennacherib king of Assyria came, and entered into Judah, and encamped against the fenced cities, and thought to win them for himself. ¹ After these things and these acts of faithfulness, Sennacherib king of Assyria came and invaded Judah and encamped against the fortified cities, thinking to win them for himself. ¹ After Hezekiah did all these things to serve the Lord , Sennacherib king of Assyria came and attacked Judah. Verse 2 Chronicles 32:7. There be more with us than with him — We have more power than they have. (These words he quotes from the prophet Elisha, 2 Kings 6:16.) This was soon proved to be true by the slaughter made by the angel of the Lord in the Assyrian camp.
