Although Potiphar's wife spoke to Joseph day after day, he refused to go to bed with her or be with her.
So Joseph's master took him and had him thrown into the prison where the king's prisoners were confined. While Joseph was there in the prison,
the LORD was with him and extended kindness to him. He granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden,
who put all those held in the prison under Joseph's authority, so that he was responsible for all that was done there.
And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and He let none of Samuel's words fall to the ground.
Gill's Notes on the Bible
[And] in the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month,.... The month Tammuz, which answers to part of June, and part of July:
the ninth [day] of the month, the city was broken up; or taken by storm; the walls of it were broken by engines and battering rams, so that the Chaldeans could enter it, and take it. This was just a year and a half after it had been besieged, not being able to hold out any longer, because of the famine; see Jeremiah 52:6.

Verse Jeremiah 39:2. The eleventh year - in the fourth month — This month in the Hebrew calendar is called Thammuz, and commences with the first new moon of our July. The siege had lasted just eighteen months.
The city was broken up. — A breach was made in the wall by which the Chaldeans entered.
