Genesis 11:12 — Salah. Luke 3:36 says Cainan, but this was probably a gloss from Septuagint, and crept into the text. No second Cainan in Hebrew text here or elsewhere. Compare 1 Chronicles 1:18 .

Genesis 21:10 — Cast out, &c. See the Divine interpretation. Galatians 1:3 , Gal 1:6-29 ; Galatians 4:22-31 . with my son, &c Hebrew idiom "with my son with Isaac". Compare Numbers 12:8 .
