1 Kings 6:15
covered. Note that all the stonework was covered with cedar wood; and the cedar wood covered with gold. Even so the saved sinner is covered with Christ's human and Divine righteousness imputed to him. Compare Luke 15:22 .Philippians 1:3 , Philippians 1:9 .
1 Kings 7:23
molten sea = brazen laver. "Sea" put by Figure of speech Metonymy (of Adjunct) for what contained it.
a line of thirty cubits. Here the proportion of the diameter to the circumference (1 Kings 1:3 ) was revealed, while human wisdom was still searching it out.
2 Kings 18:21
trustest, &c. A policy opposed by Isaiah (Isaiah 30:2 ; Isaiah 31:4 ).
bruised reed. Compare Ezekiel 29:6 .
king of Egypt. Probably Shabako, the successor of So. See note on 2 Kings 19:9 , and Compare 2 Kings 17:3 , 2 Kings 17:4 .

2 Chronicles 22:10
she arose and destroyed. The enemy's third attempt, at this time, to destroy the royal succession: (1) 2 Chronicles 21:4 ; (2) 2 Chronicles 21:17 ; 2 Chronicles 22:1 ; (3) 2 Chronicles 22:10 . This time he well-nigh succeeded. See App-25 .

Psalms 131:3
Israel. Not "a liturgical addition", but used to link the three Psalms of this group together (Psalms 129:1 ; Psalms 130:7 , Psalms 130:8 ; Psalms 131:3 ). For Israel is to find rest and peace where their kings (David, and Hezekiah) found it.
Psalms 133:2
ointment = oil (Exodus 30:23-25 ).
ran down = descended. Exodus 29:7 . Leviticus 8:12 ; Leviticus 21:10 .
went down = descended, as in Psalms 133:3 .
to the skirts, &c. = to the opening of his robes (see Exodus 28:32 ). Hebrew = mouth (or opening).
Psalms 20:6
His Anointed = His Messiah.
will hear = answereth (continually).

With the saving strengths = by the mighty saving deeds.

mercy = lovingkindness, or grace. Note the Structure "-3. "and "10", above.
Psalms 89:37
a faithful witness: i.e. the sun (Compare Psalms 89:36 ). See note on "testimony" (Psalms 19:7 ). Revelation 1:5 ; Revelation 3:14 .
Selah. Connecting the above solemn warning with the fulfilment in the visitation of judgment in the next member. See App-66 .
Proverbs 24:10
If thou faint, &c. Adversity is sent to try our strength; and, if we fail, it is proved to be weakness. Illustrations: Jacob (Genesis 42:36 ); David (1 Samuel 27:1 ); Elijah (1 Kings 19:3 , 1 Kings 19:4 ); Jonah (Jonah 4:8 ).
