A special various reading called Sevir ( App-34 ) has the full name Pi-hahiroth in this verse. The Authorized Version has kept the Pi as well, and made it "before Pi-". It should, perhaps, read here, as in every other case in this chapter, "from Pi-hahiroth".

Nebo. Where Moses died. Deuteronomy 32:49 , Deuteronomy 32:50 ; Deuteronomy 34:1 , Deuteronomy 34:5 .
drive out. This was one of the great purposes for which the sword of Israel was raised up. Compare Deuteronomy 7:1 , Deuteronomy 7:2 .Exodus 23:33 . App-23 and App-25 .
inhabitants of the land. Figure of speech Ellipsis ( App-6 ) correctly supplied. Hebrew "land" is put by Figure of speech Metonymy (of Subject), for the inhabitants.
