Isaiah 22:1-25 — (22) Jerusalem Devastated! (1-14) Jerusalem is surrounded by valleys on 3 sides(Tyropoeon, Kidron, Hinnom). So this is addressed to the Valley of Visions. Isaiah describes the Babylonian invasion & siege against Jerusalem led by Nebuchadnezzar in 588-586bc. Signed, "The Sisters of Mercy." Intimidation! (11-20) (11-5) Aramaic(Syrian Language) was the language of diplomacy. It is similar to Hebrew but the common people would not have understood it. (16,17) The enemy offers to give you something in return for your obedience to him! i.e. 2000 horses(vs.8)

God would rebuke Pharaoh’s pride, cut down his nation, & cast it into hell(15,17). LION IN A NET! (Ch.32) Egypt was strong & active like a young lion, but the nation would be caught in God’s net & go down into the pit with all the other great nations of that era. Remember God is the King & rules over the nations
