Psalms 146:1-10
Intro:
The last 5 Hallelujah Songs/Hymns are marked by an opening & closing cry of Praise the Lord. [thus known as the Hallelujah Psalms]
So 5 great doxologies bring the Hebrew Hymnbook to its close.
The LXX attributes the authorship to the prophets Haggai &
Leviticus 17:1-16 – I can’t just dial the number I want to, or I can’t be even 1 number off…they are so narrow minded!
ONE PLACE! (1-9)
There was only 1 Place in which all worship was to be observed.
Only to His Altar! (3-5, 6,8,9)
Bring it to the door! (4,5,9)
(i.e.) No where else was acceptable!
No Jew was ever allowed a sacrifice in the fields or at his tent.
There was 1 Tabernacle, 1 Alter, & 1 sanctioned Priesthood.
The reason why THE PLACE
Leviticus 19:19-37 Self-love?
Yes! If not how could Paul tell us “husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church”(Eph.5:28,29)
1] Better Self – Our duty to nourish & cherish(feed & care for).
As we, in most cases, most certainly do care for ourselves…verywell.
If not, the opposite would be true, it would make “radical asceticism”(giving
Leviticus 2:1-16 devoted life couldn’t take away sins, …but a life poured out!
“Meat offering”? in the KJV.
Meat was synonymous for food, not only flesh.
The Meal Offering could be presented at the altar in one of 5 ways: with Fine flour(1-3); backed in the oven(4); backed in a pan(griddle)(5,6); backed in a covered pan(7-10); or, roasted heads of new grain(14-16).
These 5 ways were provided no doubt, to meet the needs of the people!

Ecclesiastes overview
Intro: Hopeless Jumble
"Somewhere Over the Rainbow" was a ballad, written for the Wizard of Oz, sung by Judy Garland. About 5 minutes into the film, Dorothy sings the song after failing to get her aunt and uncle to listen to her relate an unpleasant incident involving her dog, Toto, and the town spinster, Miss Gulch. Isaiah 34:1-17 let’s 1st go back to Numb.20:14-21 for an interesting tie in.
Announcement of Judgment! (ch.34)
Judgment upon the People! (1-7)
(1) The description is the final battle of Armageddon.
(5) Though Edom is specifically named(Israel’s long time enemy), no nation will escape.
Judgment upon the Land! (8-17)
(8) Q: Why is God so upset? – For Zion’s sake.
(11) These will thrive because no people are there.

Jeremiah 39:1-18
Intro:
Last chapter Zedekiah was warned “Surrender or else!”
This chapter is a Readers Digest version of ch. 52.
And also 2 Kings 25 & 2 Chronicles 36. All describe the Fall of Jerusalem.
Finally, Jeremiah’s message is vindicated!
Had this chapter not taken place (Jer. prophecy fulfilled), we wouldn’t be reading Jeremiah but Hananiah
Numbers 36:1-13 opportunities to seek God’s wisdom & learn new truths.
Supremely confident that God would give them the land, they ask if they could inherit their father’s land since they had no brothers. (usually got dowry if married)
The 5 daughters had the courage to ask for their fathers inheritance, & they got it.
God rules & says, “yes” & instructs Moses to grant this request.
They also had a part in establishing a law that helped other families get their

Jonah 4:1-11 plant died???
I think some salt water got in Jonah’s open wound.
But notice how tenderly God deals with His prophet w/a toxic heart.
Title: Jonah and the Worm
Outline: Reviled by Revival (1-4). Pining over a Plant (5-8). No Pity for a City (9-11).
REVILED BY REVIVAL (1-4)
DISPLEASED OR PLEASED
(1) Jonah’s problem? – He was not completely yielded to God.
His mind knew God’s truth.
Zechariah 7:1-14 isn’t so much a matter of traditions & rules as it is faith, love, & a desire to please Him.
Immature people require religious regulations to tell them what to do, & these help them to measure their “spiritual life”.
(5) Question #1 - Did you really fast for me? – Are you genuinely sorry that the temple, the symbol of God’s presence, was destroyed, or are you sad, “things just simply aren’t what they used to be?”
They had 4 traditional
Luke 21:1-4 hand it to him.
That’s proportion. Giving from what you had, rather than from what others had.
Winston Churchill, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give!”
Check out 2 Cor.8:8-15 (esp.13,14 equality twice)
The early Christians always gave out of there poverty.
It’s not more spiritual to be poor, that isn’t our goal.
But equality seems to be God’s heart. (Ex.16:18 manna)
So it’s not how
Romans 13:8-14 have interpreted this verse to mean Christians should never borrow money (not for mortgages, car loans, not for anything).
Jesus wasn’t against borrowing, Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away. Mt.5:42
Granted we have rampant credit abuse in our culture today.
Easy credit, constant advertising, living above our means, & living on the assumption “I’ll make more money in the future, therefore I’ll buy on credit now,

1 Corinthians 5:1-13 her self-worth”, “I’m not good enough”), corrupting the church and destroying our nation; without action the problem will only get worse.
We are going tonight to have a serious talk about real life issues. (Stats: about 50% men in churches; 17% women struggle w/pornography)
A serious talk about the bondage, addiction and trauma that so many people are struggling with today.
Hopefully, those who are struggling with this (a family, husband, wife, oldest son, single

James 4:11-17 rightly though, we must know ALL there is to know about that other person.
It requires the complete understanding about that person’s thoughts & motives that only God possesses!
Jesus cautioned about hypocritical judgment in Mt.7:1-5 (splinter/plank).
If you see someone else doing wrong ask yourself whether the same evil in another form, is hiding inside you somewhere.
The law James is probably referring to was the royal law he already mentioned in
1 Samuel 1 overview later in Samuel, David, will show us God can use both women & men, who may be unappreciated or even rejected by others, to do great things for Him...If they possess great faith in Him.
HANNAH’S PROBLEM! (1-7)
GOD CLOSED THE WOMB! (1-5)
(1) Elkanah - God has created, or taken possession.
(2) 2 wives - Bible doesn’t condone that; bible is just honest with what was happening.
Huge disgrace in the day to not have a son to pass on your name.
