Esther 1:1-3 it came to pass in the days of Ahasuerus … that in those days … Esther arose, and stood before the king, and said, … how can I endure to see the evil that shall come unto my people? or how can I endure to see the destruction of my kindred?’
Esther 1:1-3; Esther 8:4-6
I. Let us observe the outward stage of these events.—In the books of Ezra and Nehemiah, the Persian court forms, as it were, the background of all the transactions of the history. Cyrus, Darius, Artaxerxes, figure as the deliverers
Esther 8:4-6 it came to pass in the days of Ahasuerus … that in those days … Esther arose, and stood before the king, and said, … how can I endure to see the evil that shall come unto my people? or how can I endure to see the destruction of my kindred?’

Psalms 139:1-2
‘Our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.’
1 St. John 1:3
What do you mean by God? On a man’s answer to that question depends ultimately all his thinking about the world and all his living within it. We cannot escape from
Psalms 139:1-24 EL DIOS QUE VIVE
'Oh Señor, me has examinado y me has conocido.
Psalms 76:9 again made His name glorious in His chosen dwelling-place in Jerusalem, by the annihilalation of the forces of the enemy, which before His rebuke sank down into the sleep of death ( Psalms 76:2-7).
II. From this the inference is drawn ( Psalms 76:8-10 ) that God, in the terribleness of His wrath, is irresistible when He arises to judgment for the deliverance of His suffering ones.
III. To this, after presenting God’s truthfulness in support of this declaration, the Psalmist adds an exhortation
Daniel 1:1-21 UN NIÑO HÉROE
'Daniel se propuso en su corazón.'
Daniel 1:8
Dejemos que los jóvenes tomen nota del ejemplo de Daniel. Fue porque de niño podía actuar con tanto coraje y fe que llegó a ser uno de los personajes más nobles de las Escrituras.
I. La tentación de Daniel. —Él y sus compañeros fueron elegidos, entre
Daniel 1:8
A BOY HERO
‘Daniel purposed in his heart.’
Daniel 1:8
Let young people take note of Daniel’s example. It was because as a boy he could act with such courage and faith that he grew to be one of the noblest of Scripture characters.
I. Daniel’s temptation.—He and his companions were chosen, among others,
Malachi 2:1
A CORRUPT PRIESTHOOD
‘O ye priests!’
Malachi 2:1

‘The voice of one crying in the wilderness.’
Mark 1:3
In dealing with the character and work of John the Baptist as the forerunner of our Lord’s first coming, it may be pointed out that neither the man himself, nor his work, and the effects it produced, are, perhaps, sufficiently regarded. Archbishop
