Introduction

1:2 attendants (c-11) Huperetes . see Note, 1 Corinthians 4:1 .

Verse 7

10:7 have; (d-14) Or 'as may be [offered you] by them.'

Verse 15

10:15 hades. (a-17) Hades . see Note, Matthew 11:23 .

Verse 19

10:19 power (b-6) Exousia . see Matthew 10:1 . The second 'power' in this verse is 'dunamis'.

Verse 27

10:27 strength, (c-25) Deuteronomy 6:5 . thyself. (d-35) Leviticus 19:18 .

Verse 29

10:29 justifying (e-5) Aorist tense; difficult to express in English. It gives the sense that he wanted to make out that he was in that state, not that he was obtaining it. see ch. 9.60,61, where 'suffer,' 'allow,' and 'bid adieu' are all aorists.

Verse 39

10:39 Jesus (a-17) Many read 'the Lord.'
