He holdeth back the face of his throne — i.e. Of heaven, Isaiah 66:1 , which he soon overcloudeth and muffleth up, or masketh, with a veil. Mystically, by the face of his throne, we may understand the knowledge of his glory; for this is held from us so in this world, that we cannot perfectly know him as he is, but must

Leviticus 4:16
And the priest that is anointed shall bring of the bullock’s blood to the tabernacle of the congregation:
And the priest that is anointed, — i.e., The high priest; a type of Christ, who was anointed, not with material oil, as they, but with the Spirit, that oil of gladness, both above and for his fellow brethren. Psalms 45:1-17 Hebrews 1:9 See 1 John 2:27 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 . Howbeit his oil shines brightest, and swims aloft above all others.

Fear not: for I [am] with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;

Luke 24:27
And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
The things concerning himself — Christ is author, object, matter, and mark of Old and New Testament: the babe of Bethlehem is bound up (as I may so say) in these swathing bands. Turn we the eyes of our minds to him, as the cherubims did their faces toward the mercy seat. The angels do,1 Peter 1:12; 1 Peter 1:12 .
Romans 1:6

But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.

For we preach Christ,1 Corinthians 1:23; 1 Corinthians 1:23 . We give what we preach. The Spirit is received by the preaching of faith, Galatians 3:2 . This manna is rained down in the sweet dews of the ministry of the

1 Peter 2:2 newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
