Deuteronomy 22

Verses 1-30

Deuteronomy 22:30 A man shall not take his father"s wife, nor discover his father"s skirt.

Deuteronomy 22:30Comments- Paul the apostle dealt with the sin of a son taking his father's wife in the church of Corinth ( 1 Corinthians 5:1). It was a common heathen practice for the son of a king to inherit his father's wives when he takes over the throne from his father. This was the reason that Adonijah asked King Solomon for one of his father's concubines ( 1 Kings 2:12-25).

1 Corinthians 5:1, "It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father"s wife."
