("house of lambs".) The point W. from Mizpeh to which Israel pursued the Philistines (1 Samuel 7:11) "under Bethcar," i.e. to the spot beneath, Bethcar being on a height. Here the stone Ebenezer was set up, to mark how far the rout of the Philistines extended.
