Geder

(gee' duhr) Place name meaning, “stone wall.” City whose king Joshua killed (Joshua 12:13 ). The site is unknown and could be easily confused with several places called Beth-geder, Gederah, Gederoth, or Gederothaim. Some scholars believe a copyist confused this text with the preceding Gezer or miscopied a similar-appearing Gerar. 1 Chronicles 27:28 mentions an official from Geder, but the relationship of this Geder to that of Joshua 12:1 to the other cities mentioned above cannot be determined.
