Decorative work capping the two free-standing columns flanking the entrance to Solomon's Temple (1Kings 7:19,1 Kings 7:22 ). These columns were likely inspired by Egyptian columns with a lotus motif. The brim of the molten sea was perhaps also inspired by the shape of the lotus blossom (1 Kings 7:26 ). See Temple.
