(zab' bi) An abbreviated personal name perhaps meaning, “pure.” 1. A son of Bebai who promised Ezra he would put away his foreign wife (Ezra 10:28 ). 2 . The father of Baruch who worked on the wall of Jerusalem with Nehemiah (Nehemiah 3:20 ). Some say that 1. and 2. may be the same person. The early scribal note (qere ) in Nehemiah writes the name, Zaccai.
