Taches
TACHES . An old word of French origin used by AV [Note: Authorized Version.] to render the Heb. qÄ•râsîm , which occurs only in P [Note: Priestly Narrative.] ’s description of the Tabernacle ( Exodus 26:6; Exodus 26:11; Exodus 26:33; Exodus 35:11 etc.). The Gr. rendering denotes the rings set in eyelets at the edge of a sail for the ropes to pass through. The Heb. word evidently signifies some form of hook or clasp (so RV [Note: Revised Version.] ) like the Roman fibula .
