Barnabite and scientist. Born in Carignano, Italy in 1752; died in Milan, Italy in 1832. Astronomer at the Brera observatory for over 50 years. He published frequent valuable dissertations. His memoirs containing his calculation of the orbit of Uranus and a table of elements of that planet were especially noteworthy.
