A large candle, symbolic of the Risen Saviour, the Light of the World which is blessed at the service on Holy Saturday, is used that day in the blessing of the baptismal water, and is lighted on the Gospel side of the sanctuary during solemn services during the paschal season. In it are inserted five grains of incense incased in hard wax, symbolizing the five wounds of our Lord.
