Writer, born Venice, Italy, 1646; died Padua, Italy, 1684. Of noble descent and esteemed for her learning throughout Europe, she was awarded the doctorate in philosophy by the University of Padua, 1678, and was a member of various academies. Her writings include academic discourses, translations, and devotional treatises.
