Martyr, born Paris, France, 1610; died Huron country, Canada, 1649. He entered the Society of Jesus, 1630. In 1646 he came to Canada as assistant to Blessed John de Brebeuf with whom he suffered a horrible martyrdom at the hands of the savages. Beatified, June 21, 1925.
