(Latin: Light of Christ)
Versicle chanted by the deacon on Holy Saturday as he lights the triple candle; sung three times, each time in a higher pitch, with the response "Deo Gratias." The light is taken from the new fire, just blessed, and is brought to the Paschal candle. It is symbolic of Our Lord's Resurrection.
