A bridge over the Tiber on the Flaminian way, two miles from Rome, famous for the victory of Constantine over Maxentius, who lost his life when the bridge gave way, October 312. Here before the battle Constantine saw a cross in the sky with the inscription "By this sign you shall conquer."
