Solitary and writer. Born c.1300at Thornton, Yorkshire, England; died in 1349 in Hampole, England. He wrote numerous ascetical works which show the influence of Saint Edmund of Canterbury. A Book of the Love of Jesus, published by Monsignor Benson, is a modernized version of his meditations.
