Terah (tç'rah), delay. The father of Abraham, who left Ur to go to Canaan, but died at Haran, in Mesopotamia. Genesis 11:24-32; Joshua 24:2; Joshua 24:14; Acts 7:2-4. He is called "Tharah" in Luke 3:34.
