Hazelelponi

Holman Bible Dictionary

(haz' eh lehl poh' ni) Personal name meaning, “Overshadow my face.” Daughter of Etam in the tribe of Judah (1 Chronicles 4:3 NAS; NIV, TEV, REB, NRSV). KJV follows Hebrew text, which reads “these the father of Etam.” Many Bible students think a copyist omitted something in Hebrew. They would restore the text to read, “these were the sons of Hareph: the father of Etam,” Since many of the other names in the list are names of towns (for example, Penuel, Bethlehem), Hazeleponi may also represent a town name. If so, its location is not known.
