1910 New Catholic Dictionary

Martyr; hanged, drawn, and quartered on July 30, 1540 at Smithfield, England. He was chaplain to Catherine of Aragon, and defended her cause against King Henry VIII. Marytred for refusing to take the Oath of Supremacy. Beatified in 1888.
