a confederacy of twenty-two tribes of North American Indians of the Wakashan stock. They are settled on the west coast of Vancouver, British Columbia. The chief tribes included are the Nitinaht, Tlaasaht or Makah, Tlaokiwaht or Clahoquaht, Ahansaht and Ehatishaht. The confederacy numbers some 3500.
