German psychologist; born in Berlin April 29, 1871; educated at the Kölnische Gymnasium and at the university of his native city (Ph.D. 1893). He was appointed privat-docent at the University of Breslau in 1897, and founded in that city a branch of the German society for psychological investigation.

Stern is the author of the following works: "Die Analogie im Volkstümlichen Denken," 1893; "Psychologieder Veränderungsauffassung," 1897; "Ueber Psychologie der Individuellen Differenzen," 1900; "Die Psychologische Arbeit im 19. Jahrhundert," 1900; and "Zur Psychologie der Aussage," 1902. He has published also numerous articles in the "Zeitschrift für Psychologie und Physiologie," and in other periodicals.
